Slowly but surely....

Hello. It's been awhile since I babbling here. Today, I just feel like pouring it out.

Yesterday, for the very first time I had meeting with bunch of 'mat salleh'. They are consultants and few of them are boses from another subsidiary. I just feel good about it, just joining the meeting. Because I always visualize in my career, I will sit in the meeting with bunch of multinational race. Poyo much? I know. Haha.

Random thought on social smokers. It is a norm to have smoking break during the meeting and I think they're having another set of meeting there. It is a norm for a female smokers to join for smoking break as well. But I still feel awkward when they asking me to join them. I still feel like a school girl who think smoking is bad for health regardless the gender.

Stop complaining. A reminder for myself. This and that and stuff. Stop it. If you don't like it, change. Be positive. The positive energy will help you to get get where you are. InshaAllah.

I still want to be a kick ass in my career. I still want to be that. I still want to be what I always imagined. And Alhamdullilah, slowly, Allah had show me the path and gave me experience that I always wanted. Even not in a big scale, but still. I am blessed and thankful for that.

Last but not least, Slowly but surely. I am on the right track.

Let's pray together for our success. Amin.

New and Improved

Today is my first day at the new workplace. I don't know why, most of 'my first day' of any situation was awkward. Maybe because of everything was new and unfamiliar.

This morning face without lipstick on

Anyway, it was good, at the office so far. I even received a new calendar and diary this year... with a different company logo..! Ah, I miss former workplace. ;) I also received a new thumb drive.

Wish me luck!

The only things that I was unhappy about is the traffic! I worked in KL now and ah, KL mana pernah tak jem! I guess I just have to learn how to deal with it (because I have to through it everyday!)

While passing time through traffic jammed, this song had stuck in my mind. I wish someone will take me away from here. Ok. Enough with the melancholic feeling, let's become awesome tomorrow! Goodnight!

Bye Proton Edar

In life, every beginning has it ends. And the end of something is a mark of new beginning.

The truth is, I am sad leaving my former workplace. Yesterday is my last day, and I only feel the emotion this morning. I was not feeling well yesterday, thus, I don't really say goodbye to the colleagues.

I will miss everything there.

Bistro - the cafeteria

My office building - which is standing proud

My bosses

My colleagues

Everything.

While I feel like I am not making a wise decision,  my boss said something meaningful to me. "Allah yang gerakkan hati hang untuk pergi dari sini."

I believe that.

2012 is towards the end. Let embrace 2013 with new kind of confidence.

Amin.

Thank you all for the warm wishes

My Boss

It is sad.... But I am leaving the company soon. Will get into details later. However, my boss said something funny this morning.

"Naz, you last day bila? Boleh tak you buat last project before you go. Kesian kat orang baru."
"Hmm... Ok boss."
While my colleague, "Boss, siapa replacement? Boss dah cari ke?"
"I nak cari yang pakai skirt."
"Kat depan tu ada gak yang pakai skirt boss."
"Tu dah aging, dah tua. Aku tak mau."

Bahaha. I will definately miss my boss. He is like a cheeky and funny uncle to me. :)

Cheers!

Career advise much?

Lesson learn. Just some reminder to myself on career advise.

1. Be a details person. Check, recheck and recheck before you submit proposal paper, communication, presentation, etc. Check even to the tiniest details, like date, numbers, content, data, etc.

2. Always confirm with your superior/boss before you proceed to the next action.

3. Don't delay/procrastinate. When people ask information from you, give to them asap if you have the access to the information.

4. Plan your work. Prioritize which task is important. Always set the dateline for each task.

5. Have listing of things-to-do and action taken worksheet. Prepare on your table and you're ready to go.

6. Read, research and share. Find out how other company did it their way and get some idea on how to improve yours.

7. Build network. Be confidence and have good relationship with all the staff, even the tea-lady. You will never know when you need their help.

8. Learn something new everyday and be knowledgeable. Have enthusiasm when you know something new.

8. Work hard, be sincere and everything will fall into places, InshaaAllah. Remain positive when things turn sour and believe good things will happen. Have faith in Allah.

This is a very general advise that I should remind myself because I make mistakes sometime. Let's climb the career ladder people!

Why We Need To Take 20-Somethings Seriously

How You Spend Your 20s Will Define You
According to Meg Jay, Ph.D., a psychologist and author of The Defining Decade: Why your twenties matter--and how to make the most of them now, many 20-somethings believe they have all time in the world and how they spend their 20s doesn't matter. But Jay says they matter most. The foundation you build in your 20s will define the rest of your life. Take yourself seriously, she urges.

Adult Responsibilities Make You Happier
While many young people may resist getting a "real job" or becoming independent, Jay says these are the things that make you happy and give you purpose. "Some people underestimate the satisfaction of working, thinking they’ll be miserable in a cube," she says. "The 20-somethings that do work are happier than those who don’t or are underemployed."

Get The Best Job You Can Get
If you invest in your career early, you'll have longer to build it up. Jay says that 70% of wage growth happens in the first 10 years, so you need to get the best job you can get and negotiate your salary. "People who wait until their 30s to get going are never going to catch up."
Not Making A Choice Is A Choice
Jay says many 20-somethings don't know what they want to do, so they hang around the house or in low-level jobs waiting for the spirit to move them. "Not making a choice is a choice," she warns. "These 20-somethings think they are keeping their options open, but they are actually closing doors." Resumes start look thin, their peers begin surpassing them and they may get stuck in underemployment.
It's Going To Take Time To Get Good At Your Job
Jay tells her 20-something clients who are fresh on the job scene that it will take about 10,000 hours (or about five years) to really master their jobs. If you're wondering why colleagues seem so poised and confident, it's partly because they've been doing it longer, she says. She advises young people to learn as much as they can in their first jobs and remember it will take some time to really get good.
Get Some Perspective
The 20-something brain is still developing its frontal lobe, says Jay, which is in charge of overriding emotion with reason. This, coupled with less on-the-job experience, means 20-somethings are more sensitive to surprise and criticism. They are more likely to take feedback personally, and magnify events to enormous proportions in their minds. Step back and get some perspective, advises Jay. You're not going to be fired because your boss is angry. Hear the criticism and learn from it.
Take Romantic Relationships Seriously
Just because many are marrying later doesn't mean love in your 20s should be waved off as unimportant, says Jay. She views the 20s as the time when you should be learning how to have healthy relationships. That means dating people who have the attributes of a long-term partner, and not putting off love just because you think you can or should.
Think Hard About Cohabitation
Cohabitation has increased by 1,500% since 1960, says Jay. Today 7.5 million unmarried couples live together, and more than half of all marriages will be preceded by living together. However, Jay warns that too often young couples don't communicate clearly about what cohabitation means for their relationship. "It's easier to get in than get out," she warns, noting that cohabitation can lead to marriages that aren't compatible because it becomes so difficult to untangle.
Start Family Planning Early
Not a whole lot of 20-somethings are thinking about fertility--but they should be, says Jay. She notes that young people have been told that they have all the time in the world to start a family. In reality, fertility starts dropping significantly by age 35 and dramatically by 40. It's not just a woman's issue either. Older sperm is associated with problems, she says, and it certainly impacts men when their spouses can't get pregnant. Jay says you don't have to start your family in your 20s, but you should be aware of medical realities and plan ahead.
Change Your Brain For Life
Jay says the brain doesn't fully mature until your mid-20s, particularly the parts that plan for the future and manage emotions. That doesn't mean you should sit around and wait for it to develop, she says. In fact, what you learn and experience in your 20s becomes hardwired into your brain, and this is the best chance you have to re-wire your brain and change how you think and react. "What people do in their 20s wires who they’ll be as adults."

Winner part II

Hello.

Last few months, I've been "famous" for awhile because I've been featured in the company bulletin several time. Hehehe. But this time a bit special because the half page is mine.

I had wrote the post before in here.

So here goes my story..

The contribution:
Ketika training Admin Executive, seorang trainer telah bertanya "what do you want to do when you arrive in your branch?" Semua orang memberikan jawapan yang positif. Jawapan saya ialah "I will bring out the best of everyone in my branch."

The results:
Category: Teamwork

P/s- Ye, mmg cerita dah basi. :P

ICC MPC East M'sia Region

Ok. Ini cerita dah basi. Tapi nak cerita gak.

It was unforgettable moment. Ish, taktau nak start kat mana lah. Hmm. Ok. Lets start with my company. Ok. I work with Proton Edar. Service Centre. Sibu. Sarawak. Yes. Sarawak. Proton is that daring transferring people. For good I guess.

That's not the point lah. So, in Edar, yearly they will organize ICC. ICC stands for Inovative Creative Circle. Its like for improvement in daily work to increase productivity, quality, etc. Some sort like Kaizen la macam tu. You have to come up with a problem in your department and find root causes and solution to the problem. Boring eh? To keep it short, we have to do paper work about our idea to the improvement of daily work process.

So each department will send a group and will compete with each other in respective region. The winner of a region will be competing with other company or organization in MPC Convenction. Dey, apehal gelabah sangat cerita MPC ni? Sebab group kitaorang menang ofcourse!! We received gold award. Muahaha. Plus, we're fresh group while most of the other group memang gempak giler ah. Yela, its their 4-5th time join MPC. Mana tak terror.

Plus the MPC Convenction for East M'sia Region was held in Kota Kinabalu. I love KK for its beautiful scenery and friendly people.

Yeay! Lets scroll for pictures. Dah lama tak upload pictures.

With Mag - the master 'paperwork'

Winning Team ;D

See you in the next entry. Next week balik raya. Best!

Workaholic? Nah!

If car is this simple...

Crazy.

I went back home at 10.45pm today. I know its normal to stay back in the office until late night for some people. Well, this is my first time and it ain't that 'late' actually.

Learn a lot of new stuff today and oh boy, there's so many thing I have to juggle once at a time! I think I started to like my job already. I finally found it satisfied. But still, it is not my ultimate passion. My dream job would be to involve in marketing strategy and become a decission maker and travelling once in a while. I have faith that I'll get there one day, InsyaAllah. (yada yada yada, hey, everyone has a dream, right? ;P)

There so many thing I didn't know about car. All I know before is to start the engine and drive. And oh, refill the fuel. My knowledge in technical term is like 5%. I dont really know about the automotive business either. I wonder how my company hired me. Haha. Really need to sharpen my skills after this.

My super duper ultimate dream is to get married and have a family. What a plain dream, I know. But, lucky to all my friends who married earlier. I wonder when is my turn. Keep on praying, I guess.

In conclusion, I have a very productive day today. Feeling meaningful and satisfied. And TIRED for sure!

Ofcourse in life, there's a time I feel on the top - happy and contented and there's also a time I feel at the bottom - sad and dissapointed.

I am just glad today I feel on the top. Alhamdullilah.

Off to bed. xoxo. Nite everyone!

Wake up at September

Great people and totally craz-eh!

Lamanya tak update! I've been busy with the new job, hari raya and stuff! Blurgh!
September is definately a new beginning in my life. Im already started working in the new place and its been great! Im inspired.
My close family and boyfriend know how I always talk about my company work place lately and I know I bored some of them (sorry guys, im excited because my expectation is lower than what I perceived after joining them).
My mum said my company is good at "brain washed" me while my dad as always giving constructive criticism. As for my boy, he sarcastically said that I was the CEO of proton. Ok. I promised, after this no more of those stories!
I feel anxious and worry where I will be transfer after this. Where ever the location will be, I'll accept it with open arms. (I've got no choice actually)
Raya was superb except the part where I did not get a lot of duit raya like I used to.
And I miss my boy badly... T___T
p/s - I HATE MY NEW HAIR CUTTTTTTTTT!
